Ian Condon is ready to end the suspense.
The No. 77 prospect in the 2027 class will announce his college commitment on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. ET, with the decision set to go live on the CBS Sports YouTube Channel.
Condon, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound power forward from Sidwell Friends School, is down to eight schools: Syracuse, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Boston College, NC State, Stanford, Georgia Tech and Florida.
A top-100 recruit and one of the more notable frontcourt names in the 2027 cycle, Condon has built a profile around size, toughness and a skill set that stretches beyond the paint. His recruitment now comes to a close with his announcement on Tuesday.
247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein described Condon as “an inside-out forward who combines a power, skill, and a high motor.” Finkelstein noted his broad frame, strong lower body and relentless pace, writing that he “truly sprints the floor and runs like a dump truck downhill.”
Condon’s offensive game has shown real range. He averaged over 18 points per game in the EYBL while hitting 36% of his three-pointers on nearly seven attempts per game.
Finkelstein pointed to his high release, his wide base and his ability to get into rhythm by hopping into his catch. He also described him as a player who can make wrong-footed threes and serve as a major pick-and-pop threat.
The scouting report also highlighted Condon’s ability to work in the mid-range and attack with physicality inside, though there are still areas to clean up. He finished at just a 44% clip at the rim, and his low assist rate - 1.2 assists against 1.9 turnovers - leaves room for growth as a ball-handler and passer, even if he projects as more capable moving the ball than the raw numbers suggest.
On the other end, Finkelstein said Condon can get caught flat-footed and will need to lean on his strength, motor and attention to detail. Still, his rebounding stands out. He averaged 6.5 rebounds per game, including 2.1 offensive boards, using his balance and strong hands to win balls in traffic.
