Five years have passed since Florida football last opened a season 2-0, and the Gators will get a chance to reach that mark again when Campbell comes to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday.
Florida is coming off a 66-21 rout of Florida Atlantic, a game that gave plenty of early evidence of what this team can do on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Aaron Philo made an immediate splash in his debut, accounting for four touchdowns and throwing for 275 yards. Jadan Baugh added 160 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Vernell Brown III paced the receivers with six catches for 117 yards and a score.
The defense did its part, too. Florida forced three turnovers, and linebacker Myles Graham led the way with 10 tackles.
Campbell arrives in Gainesville with a 2-0 record of its own after beating Western Carolina 28-19 last week. The Camels are guided by dual-threat quarterback Kamden Sixkiller, who has piled up 673 passing yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing for 114 yards and three scores.
Florida and Campbell will kick off at 5:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Floridas early-season momentum has already been nudged by an injury watch list, with head coach Jon Sumrall saying wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. is highly questionable for Week 2 against Campbell after hurting his leg in the opener. Singleton arrived in Gainesville for the 2026 season after productive runs at Georgia Tech and Auburn, and his addition was supposed to give the offense another dynamic piece right away.
Now the Gators are waiting on more than just one pass catcher. Sumrall also said defensive lineman Emmanuel Oyebadejo is highly questionable, with final availability still to be sorted out later in the week, leaving Florida to manage a couple of key early-depth concerns before it even gets fully into September. Florida's SEC Schedule Already Comes With One Early Concern
Floridas path through the SEC already looks a little sharper after the league opened the season with a perfect weekend. Every conference team got off to a win, a jolt that matters to Florida because nine of those opponents are on the Gators schedule, and several of them did more than just survive. The leagues opening slate offered an early snapshot of who looks organized, who has playmakers in place and who may already be setting a tougher tone for the months ahead.
For Florida, the bigger takeaway is that there was no easy read among the group it will see down the road. Some of those opponents handled their openers cleanly, while others leaned on key performances to get across the finish line, but all of them left Week 1 with momentum. The one result that probably raised the fewest eyebrows came from Vanderbilt, though even that game served as another reminder that the SECs bottom tier may not be as soft as it can look on paper. Myles Graham Gives Florida One Defensive Bright Spot Fans Needed
Floridas 66-21 win over Florida Atlantic offered plenty for the scoreboard, but not nearly as much comfort on the defensive side. The Gators gave up 276 passing yards and another 120 on the ground, while Kelby Vasin piled up 10 catches for 92 yards as the Owls found enough rhythm to keep Florida from feeling fully settled on that side of the ball.
Myles Graham was the clear bright spot in the middle of it, finishing with 10 tackles, half a sack and half a tackle for loss. For a defense looking for cleaner play and more consistent disruption, Grahams activity stood out as the kind of effort Florida can build around while the larger questions about the unit remain very much in the picture.
