Florida gymnastics delivered a standout performance on the road Friday, showcasing their prowess in a quad meet against Texas Woman’s University, Arizona State, and Fisk. The No.
4 Gators put on a clinic, achieving their second-highest score of the season with a 197.700. Arizona State followed with a 195.475, while Texas Woman’s came in third at 194.525.
Fisk, who announced plans to disband their program after this season, scored 189.250.
A highlight of the night was Florida's record-setting performance on the balance beam, where they posted a school-record 49.800. This impressive score also stands as the highest beam score in the nation this season, edging out the competition by a tenth of a point.
Sophomore Skye Blakely was a standout, earning her first career perfect 10 on the beam, marking Florida’s first perfect score of the season. Juniors Alyssa Arana and Skylar Draser also shone brightly, achieving season highs of 9.925 and 9.95, respectively, with several teammates matching their personal bests.
The Gators kicked off the meet strong on the uneven bars, scoring a 49.6. Senior eMjae Frazier hit a season-high 9.925, while Blakely continued her stellar night with a 9.975.
On the floor exercise, junior Danie Ferris tied her career best with a season-high 9.925. Fellow junior Gabby Disidore made a memorable season debut on the apparatus, earning a 9.900 and contributing to the team’s rotation total of 49.425.
However, vault proved to be a challenge. Despite tying their season high on vault at Georgia the previous week, the Gators struggled to find consistency.
They opened with an 8.975 from Draser and had to count junior Anya Pilgrim’s 9.575. Juniors Kayla DiCello, senior Selena Harris-Miranda, sophomore Taylor Clark, and Ferris each scored a 9.825, culminating in a 48.875, their second-lowest vault score of the season.
With over a week to fine-tune their vault performance, Florida is gearing up to face No. 2 LSU. The Tigers will visit Gainesville on March 8 for the Gators' final home meet of the season, providing a thrilling matchup for fans.
