Florida Gators fans are still reeling from their unexpected exit in the Round of 32 against the Iowa Hawkeyes. But there's a silver lining on the horizon as the team gears up for next season. The Gators just got a shot in the arm with some exciting news: brothers Isaiah and AJ Brown have announced their return to the squad for another season, strengthening Florida's guard lineup.
Both Isaiah and AJ took to social media to share their commitment to the Gators, signaling a promising future for the team. With the departure of Xaivian Lee, who was the mainstay at guard this past season, the return of the Brown brothers ensures that three of Florida’s four key guards will be back. Urban Klavzar and Boogie Fland are also set to return, rounding out a robust guard rotation.
AJ Brown, unfortunately, missed this season due to a shoulder injury that required surgery, sidelining him for the year. Meanwhile, Isaiah Brown emerged as a reliable presence, particularly towards the end of the season. Although his early performance didn't quite meet expectations, Isaiah found his stride during SEC play, becoming a defensive asset in the rotation.
The return of the Brown brothers is likely to lead to increased playing time for both, giving head coach Todd Golden more options at the guard position. While there’s always the possibility of exploring the transfer portal for a standout guard, the Browns are well-positioned to step up and fill any gaps, potentially taking on more significant roles next season.
