Florida Gets A Shot At A Reeling Georgia Team

Georgia Bulldogs aim to rebound in a pivotal face-off with Florida, crucial for their SEC Title hopes.

Georgia gets a reset this week after a stunning home loss to unranked Auburn knocked the Bulldogs from No. 1 to No. 5 and shook up the SEC playoff race. Even with the setback, Georgia still shares the conference lead with Kentucky, but the margin for error has shrunk fast now that every team in the league has at least one loss.

The next test is a big one, and a wild one. Georgia faces arch-rival Florida next in Atlanta on Halloween, with the Gators bringing the kind of week-to-week chaos that makes them impossible to pin down. Florida has posted huge top-10 wins over Ole Miss and Texas, but also taken blowout losses to Missouri and South Carolina.

Kirby Smart will have all week to get Georgia back on track before a brutal stretch that includes three straight ranked opponents.

As is tradition, Georgia does not play the weekend before Halloween. The Bulldogs return next week for their biggest rivalry game of the season against Florida at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game will be shown on ABC and ESPN, and fans can stream it on Fubo, which offers a free trial.

Georgia’s remaining regular-season schedule now runs through Nov. 28, starting with Florida on Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The Bulldogs then travel to Ole Miss on Nov. 7, host Missouri on Nov. 14, head to South Carolina on Nov. 21, and close with Georgia Tech at home on Nov. 28.

All of those kickoff times are still listed as TBD except for the Florida matchup.

Floridas Bye Week Comes With Two Huge Questions Before Georgia

Floridas bye week arrives with plenty to sort through after a demanding opening stretch against three ranked opponents in its first seven games. The break gives the Gators a chance to step back and tighten both sides of the ball, with the offense still searching for the right answers and the defense looking for cleaner play in the secondary before the schedule ramps back up.

All of it matters because Georgia is next, and the weeks leading into that matchup often reveal as much about a teams direction as the game itself. Florida also has an eye on other upcoming college football games involving SEC programs and national contenders, since results elsewhere could shape the Gators place in the standings as they head deeper into the season. Florida Fans Have One SEC Result To Watch Closely This Week

Florida gets a quiet weekend with the bye week, but Gators fans still have plenty of scoreboard watching to do around the SEC. The Week 8 slate comes with a full watch guide, complete with kickoff times, TV channels and betting lines, and it sorts the conference games from the ones that are merely worth keeping an eye on to the ones that could actually shape Floridas path in the standings.

Ole Miss against Texas stands out as the one to circle first. It is the matchup with the most relevance to Florida and the kind of late-October heft that can ripple through the league race, which is why it rises above the rest of the schedule as the game Gators fans should have on when the attention turns away from Gainesville. Florida Keeps Sending A Clear Message In The Trenches

Florida is keeping its foot on the gas in the trenches, and the latest target is Josiah Eney, a four-star offensive lineman from Maryland in the class of 2028. The Gators have joined a growing list of suitors for the young blocker, whose offer sheet already includes programs like Wisconsin, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee, a sign that his name is beginning to travel well beyond the Mid-Atlantic.

Eneys appeal is rooted in the kind of traits Florida keeps chasing up front: size, physicality and the versatility to be molded into a fit at the next level. For a program trying to stack talent along both lines, getting involved early with a prospect of his profile matters, especially with more teams expected to press their case as his recruitment develops.
