Florida’s trip to Auburn brings a little of everything: a long-dormant SEC matchup, a road test in one of the league’s toughest environments, and a chance to see whether the Gators’ hot start actually travels.
The Gators and Tigers will meet Saturday night for the first time since 2019, and just the second time since 2012. What was once a bitter rivalry faded with SEC expansion, but the series still carries plenty of history. Auburn leads it 43-39-2, though Florida took the last meeting 24-13 in Gainesville in 2019.
This one kicks off at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m.
CT at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama, with ESPN carrying the television broadcast. Tom Hart will be on play-by-play, Roddy Jones will handle analysis, and Quint Kessenich will report from the sideline.
Florida’s radio coverage comes via the Gators Sports Network, ESPN Gainesville-WRUF and The Varsity Network, with pregame coverage beginning at 3:45 p.m. ET. Sean Kelley, Shane Matthews and Tate Casey will be on the Florida radio call.
Both teams enter the game unbeaten at 2-0. Florida has rolled past FAU and Campbell, while Auburn has beaten Baylor and Southern Miss.
The weather could make things interesting. The National Weather Service’s Friday-morning forecast calls for a Saturday high near 95 degrees, along with a 60% chance of precipitation, mostly after 1 p.m. For Saturday night, the forecast includes a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., with an overnight low around 71 degrees.
Florida’s recent history in Auburn is part of the backdrop too. The Gators haven’t played at Jordan-Hare Stadium since a 17-6 loss in 2011, and their last win there came back in 1999, when they won 32-14.
The injury report gives both sides a few names to monitor. For Florida, Eric Singleton Jr. is questionable with an ankle injury, Emmanuel Oyebadejo is questionable with a lower-body issue, and Patrick Durkin is probable with an undisclosed injury. Auburn lists Tai Buster as out with an undisclosed injury, while Joe Phillips and Hunter Herring are both questionable.
The biggest question for Florida is simple: was the early offensive explosion real? The Gators have scored 118 points through two games, but those numbers came against FAU and Campbell. Auburn is a much sharper measuring stick, and Saturday should say a lot about how much stock to put in Florida’s first two weeks.
There’s also a familiar angle on the other sideline. Alex Golesh and Byrum Brown were both with USF when the Bulls beat Florida last season, and receiver Keshaun Singleton - who had a 66-yard touchdown in that game - followed Golesh to Auburn. Auburn has nine players in rotation who played for USF last year.
And then there’s the road factor. Florida went 0-6 outside The Swamp in 2025, and this will be Aaron Philo’s first start on the road. Jordan-Hare is no soft landing spot for that kind of debut.

Navarro picked Auburn to edge Florida 28-27, pointing to a matchup that could hinge on whether Jadan Baugh can crack a run defense that has been stout so far this season. For Florida, that means the ground game may have to do real work if the Gators want to keep the pressure off their offense and avoid playing from behind.
The quarterback side of the matchup also looms large, with Aaron Philo and Auburns Byrum Brown factoring into a game Navarro expects to stay tight into the final moments.
