Maple Leafs Prospect Ben Danford Eyes Coveted OHL Achievement

Maple Leafs prospect Ben Danford, fueled by past near-misses, is determined to clinch an OHL championship with the Brantford Bulldogs, bolstered by their stellar season performance.

As we dive into the world of the Toronto Maple Leafs' prospects, let's spotlight two promising defensemen: Ben Danford of the Brantford Bulldogs and Noah Chadwick of the Toronto Marlies.

Ben Danford, who twice reached the OHL championship series with the Oshawa Generals, is now setting his sights on clinching an OHL title with the Bulldogs. The sting of past losses to the London Knights fuels his determination.

"At this point in the season, those memories come rushing back," Danford shared as the Bulldogs embarked on a three-game road trip through North Bay, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie.

"The playoffs are exhilarating, but falling short is tough. That experience definitely leaves me with some extra fire."

With the OHL regular season winding down, the Bulldogs are in prime position to make a deep playoff run. Leading the league with 97 points and boasting a strong recent performance, they're the team to watch.

"We're hitting our stride at the right time," Danford noted. "I believe this team has what it takes to go all the way."

Securing a championship would be the perfect conclusion to Danford's junior career, potentially leading to his debut with the Marlies in the 2026-27 season. As the Leafs' first-round pick in 2024, he's considered a top prospect alongside Easton Cowan and Dennis Hildeby. His experience with Team Canada at the world juniors in Minnesota adds to his growing resume.

"It was a challenging tournament, but bringing home a medal is unforgettable," Danford reflected. "Wearing that jersey is something you dream about as a kid. It was an incredible experience."

With the playoffs looming, Danford, who joined Brantford via a trade from Oshawa in October, seems ready to make his mark.
