Fournier Stuns with Sporting News All-America Third Team Honor

Duke's rising star, Fournier, secures a spot on the Sporting News All-America Third Team, marking a significant milestone in her exceptional sophomore season.

In Durham, N.C., Duke's standout sophomore forward has been making waves, earning a well-deserved spot on the Sporting News All-America third team. This recognition places her among the elite 15 women's basketball players celebrated for their outstanding performances this season.

This marks Fournier's first All-America accolade, and she's one of just six sophomores to achieve this honor. Impressively, she's the first Blue Devil to receive at least third-team All-America honors since Lexi Brown in 2018.

Fournier's impact on the court is undeniable. As an All-ACC First Team selection, she leads Duke with averages of 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.

Her consistency is evident, scoring in double figures in 29 of her 32 games and racking up nine double-doubles. Her recent ACC All-Tournament Team nod came after she played a pivotal role in securing Duke's second straight ACC Tournament title, posting averages of 12.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.67 blocks, 2.33 steals, and 2.0 assists per game during the tournament.

In conference matchups, Fournier elevated her game, averaging 18.3 points and 8.8 rebounds. Dominating the paint, she boosted her blocks total by an impressive 69 percent this season, with 74 rejections across 32 games. This performance ranks her second in the ACC and 10th nationally in blocks per game, while her 74 blocks place her ninth in Duke's single-season history.

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils have secured the No. 3 seed in the Sacramento Region and are set to face Charleston in the NCAA Tournament First Round on March 20 at 11:30 a.m., with the game broadcast on ESPN2.
