Duke's Stephanie Moss Earns ACC Honor After Dominant Weekend Performance

Stephanie Mosss record-breaking weekend on the track has vaulted her into national prominence-and earned her top honors from the ACC.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Stephanie Moss is making it look easy right now.

The Duke graduate student turned in a dominant showing at the JDL Camel City Invitational this past weekend, earning herself ACC Women’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week honors - and frankly, she left little room for debate.

Moss didn’t just win her races. She owned them.

She posted personal bests in both the women’s 1500m En Route and the seeded mile, clocking in at 4:11.96 and 4:29.99, respectively. That’s not just fast - that’s elite.

Both times were over six seconds clear of the next-best finisher, a gap that’s practically a canyon in distance running.

To put that in perspective, those marks now rank her third nationally in the 1500m and eighth in the mile for the 2026 NCAA indoor season. And within Duke’s own storied track history, Moss now sits at No. 2 all-time in both events. That’s rare air for any athlete, especially in a program that’s seen its fair share of high-level talent.

What’s especially impressive is the way Moss is peaking at the right time. With the indoor postseason looming, she’s not just setting the tone - she’s raising the bar. Her performance in Winston-Salem wasn’t just about fast times; it was about control, confidence, and a sense that she’s just getting started.

Next up for the Blue Devils: a split-squad weekend to close out the indoor regular season. Some of the team will head south to the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational, while others will make the trip north to Boston for the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Both meets are scheduled for February 13-14, and they’ll offer another chance for Moss - and her teammates - to sharpen up before championship season kicks into gear.

If what we saw at Camel City is any indication, Stephanie Moss isn’t just running fast - she’s running with purpose. And right now, she’s one of the names to watch on the national stage.
