Duke Softball Heads to Atlanta for Showdown with Georgia Tech

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke Blue Devils are gearing up for a crucial three-game conference series against Georgia Tech at Mewborn Field in Atlanta this weekend. The action kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. on ACCNX.

Duke is riding high after a commanding 17-0 victory over UNC Wilmington, bouncing back impressively from a tough series finale loss to No. 11 Virginia Tech. This win was their most dominant since a 22-0 triumph over Michigan State in the 2024 Duke Invitational.

The offensive fireworks were led by freshman Gabriella Shadek, senior Aminah Vega, and graduate student Tyrina Jones, who collectively launched the ball out of the park to account for seven of Duke’s 17 runs. Shadek, in particular, had a night to remember, smashing her first career multi-home run game with a solo shot in the third inning and a two-run blast in the fourth.

On the mound, the trio of freshman Ava Bradshaw, sophomore Mallory Wheeler, and senior Cassidy Curd combined efforts to one-hit the Seahawks. Bradshaw started strong, Wheeler snagged the win, and Curd closed it out with a solid inning of relief.
