Nate Sheppard kept doing Nate Sheppard things. The production was obvious enough - 188 total yards and three touchdowns - but the way he piled it up mattered just as much.
He had runs that left would-be tacklers grasping at air, including one that helped set up his 3-yard touchdown. It was another eye-catching showing from a back who can hurt defenses in more ways than one.
And when the game tightened, Duke’s defense delivered the stop-heavy finish it needed. The first half wasn’t clean, with Katin Houser and Collin Dixon combining for three touchdowns, but the Blue Devils answered when it counted.
