Sherrone Moore is moving on from Ann Arbor in a very literal way.
The former Michigan head coach and his wife have put their Scio Township home on the market for $1.7 million, seven months after the school fired him. The 5,858-square-foot property sits on a half-acre lot and comes with a three-car garage, a pool, a chef-style kitchen, a pond and a hot tub. Built in 2005, the house also features hardwood floors and three fireplaces.
Moore bought the home in 2023 for $1.3 million, before he was named Michigan’s head coach in 2024. Renovations on the property reportedly ran about $300,000. Real estate agents expect strong interest because of the location.
Detroit News first reported the listing on July 23.
Moore’s exit from Michigan came after a university investigation into his conduct. He had been considered one of the sport’s rising young coaches and took over for Jim Harbaugh after Michigan’s 2023 championship season, but his run ended after two seasons.
Michigan fired Moore in December after an internal investigation found credible evidence of an inappropriate relationship involving a former staff member named Paige Shiver. Players reportedly noticed unusual behavior from Moore in the weeks before, and some had seen him near the staffer’s apartment late at night.
The university’s review was also costly. Michigan reportedly paid law firm Jenner & Block more than $11 million.
The findings said the athletic department wasn’t always transparent and that accountability slipped in handling certain situations. Michigan released a summary of those findings just last week, and the report stopped short of calling the misconduct widespread.
Moore also faced criminal charges tied to the same incident. He allegedly went to Shiver’s apartment the day he was let go.
He later pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges after prosecutors initially pursued more serious counts, including a felony that was later dropped as part of the plea deal. In April, a judge sentenced him to 18 months of probation.
After sentencing, his attorney, Ellen Michaels, said, “He and his wife, Kelli, are ready to move forward with their family.”
The home sale looks like part of that move forward. The listing does not mention Moore’s coaching career, and Michigan has already turned the page with new leadership in its athletic department.
