As the Detroit Tigers gear up for their 2026 home opener at Comerica Park on April 3, fans are in for a treat with new culinary delights and enhanced experiences. Ilitch Sports Entertainment is rolling out a lineup of premium giveaways, themed celebrations, and community events, promising an exciting season ahead.
This year, the Tigers are putting a fresh spin on classic ballpark favorites. Fans can dive into the Tigers Tail footlong corn dog or explore diverse local offerings like pierogi nachos. These new food and beverage options were unveiled on March 25, as part of the Tigers' ambitious $200 million investment to elevate both fan and player experiences at the park.
At the annual “What’s New” media event, the Tigers, alongside Delaware North Sportservice, showcased a variety of new and returning vendors, merchandise, game day specials, and unique food items. The event took place in the chic Priority Club, first introduced in the 2025 season.
Mark Szubeczak, the executive chef at Comerica Park for Delaware North Sportservice, expressed his enthusiasm for the new season and the culinary offerings. "It's going to be a great season, and we're ready to go. We have a bunch of fun new items this year," he shared.
Continuing a tradition, the Tigers are spotlighting local Detroit restaurants. Fans can enjoy favorites from Bert's Marketplace, Breadless, Fairway Packing Co., Green Dot Stables, Slows Bar-BQ, and Taqueria El Rey.
Breadless, known for its innovative bread-free sandwiches, is back for its second full season in section 140, introducing the Sweet Heat Chicken Ranch sandwich. Fairway Packing Co. is also returning, expanding their presence with a new stand in the outfield to meet the high demand for their smashburgers.
Emmet Barrata highlighted the popularity of their offerings, saying, "The biggest problem was the line was too long. This year, we wanted to enhance the fan experience." Fans can look forward to the addition of a steak sandwich, crafted by Fairway chef Christina Virgadamo and Szubeczak, featuring an exclusive New York Strip cut.
