Taylor Decker’s search for a new home has dragged into July, and the latest projected fit is one that would have felt unthinkable not long ago: Tennessee.
For a veteran left tackle with a track record, there should have been a cleaner market. Instead, Decker is still sitting among the top free agents as training camp approaches, a surprising turn for a player many assumed would finish his career in Detroit. That possibility got even murkier after Decker acknowledged before last season was over that retirement was something he would seriously consider this offseason, and he also said his surgically repaired shoulder would never be completely right again.
The situation may also reflect a misread of the market when he asked to be released - something that, according to the source material, could have been avoided with help from his agent. Whatever the reason, Decker is still out there, and at this stage of his career the logical landing spots would seem to be contenders.
If one of those teams has reached out, he’d be wise not to brush them off. If he has turned them away, that could mean retirement is the more likely path.
But until he signs, the possibilities keep coming. In a Bleacher Report look at how to patch the NFL’s worst offenses, Moe Moton floated the Titans as a new landing spot for Decker.
"If the Tennessee Titans are serious about quarterback Cam Ward's pass protection, they must upgrade at left tackle. Dan Moore Jr. has struggled in pass-blocking sets for most of his career. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed eight sacks while on the field for 621 pass-blocking snaps in 2025."
"Although it would be bold to bench a player with a $19.5 million base salary, the front office appears to have overpaid for Moore. The new coaching staff has to right that wrong to keep Ward upright in the pocket."
It would be a significant move for Tennessee to sideline Dan Moore after making such a heavy investment in him, but Decker would clearly be an upgrade. And if the Titans are serious about giving Cam Ward every chance to succeed, the left tackle spot is exactly the kind of problem they may need to solve.
The AFC South may be open again this season, but Tennessee still doesn’t look like a team built for a deep run. Even so, the longer Decker remains unsigned, the more he may have to accept whatever opportunity comes along if he wants to play in 2025. That is not where he likely expected to be when he asked the Lions for his release nearly four months ago.

Lions Suddenly Have A Cornerback Decision Fans Will Fight Over
The Lions suddenly find themselves staring at a cornerback question they did not want this late in the season, with the outside spot looking thinner after Terrion Arnolds arrest and release. Detroit already had a reason to monitor the market there, and now the focus has shifted to whether a veteran upgrade might be available if another team decides it cannot keep everyone happy.
Clevelands situation is the kind front offices watch closely because it sits at the intersection of rebuilding and money. If the Browns cannot bridge the gap on a new contract, a trade becomes more realistic, but Detroit would still have to decide whether the price makes sense for a roster trying to stay competitive now without mortgaging too much of the future. Former Lions First Round Pick Terrion Arnold May Not Wait Long
Terrion Arnolds next NFL stop could come sooner than most players in his spot might expect. The former Lions first-round cornerback is on the waiver wire after being released, and the early response around the league suggests his market is already forming, with his attorney saying Arnold has heard from three teams in the past 48 hours.
Harvey Steinberg also believes Arnold should not be waiting long to land somewhere else, projecting that he will have a new football home within 30 days. If he does clear waivers, the list of possible destinations is already taking shape, with several clubs in the mix and a few familiar coaching and roster fits making the situation worth tracking closely for Detroit fans who watched him arrive with so much promise.
