Braylen Warren has made it clear where he wants to be, even if his run through Nebraska’s quarterback scene has kept things interesting.
The 4-star quarterback in the 2027 class told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he is shutting down his recruitment, choosing to fully focus on his commitment to Missouri. The move comes after Penn State had started making a strong push, but Warren’s latest statement ends any question about whether the Tigers still have to fend off challengers.
Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz was in Omaha to watch Warren go head-to-head with Nebraska commit Trae Taylor in the state’s biggest game of the season, and Warren delivered again. He helped Omaha Westside outlast Millard South, a program that has been one of the state’s heavyweights in recent years, while flashing the kind of production that has kept him in demand.
Warren, listed at 6-foot-1 and 203 pounds, committed to Missouri on December 4, 2025, giving the Tigers their first pledge in the 2027 class. He is also the son of former Nebraska defensive tackle Steve Warren.
According to the latest Rivals Industry Rankings, Warren is the No. 219 player in the 2027 class, the No. 17 quarterback and the No. 3 player in Nebraska.
He has built a long list of suitors along the way. Warren holds nearly 20 scholarship offers, with programs including Arkansas, California, Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, South Florida, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin among them. Penn State most recently jumped in when head coach Matt Campbell came to Omaha and offered him on October 21, 2026.
On social media, Warren reinforced the decision in his own words: “After a lot of thought and consideration, I’ve decided to shut down my recruitment and fully focus on my commitment to the University of Missouri. I’m grateful for every coach, program, and opportunity that has been part of this journey, and I’m excited for what’s ahead at…”
His production has backed up the attention. As a junior at Omaha Westside in 2025, Warren completed 125 of 202 passes for 1,847 yards, 27 touchdowns and six interceptions, while also running 68 times for 288 yards and three scores. That added up to 2,135 total yards and 30 total touchdowns as Westside finished 10-2 and reached the Nebraska Class A state semifinals.
He took another step as a sophomore in 2024, completing 67.1 percent of his passes for 2,105 yards, 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions, along with 175 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Through Omaha Westside’s undefeated 2026 regular season, Warren has kept piling up numbers. He has thrown for 1,773 yards and 23 touchdowns with two interceptions while adding more than 550 rushing yards and five scores. Through the first eight games, he was 86 of 135 for 1,522 yards, 19 touchdowns and two picks, with 493 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
His biggest outing of the year came in Westside’s 41-17 win over previously unbeaten Millard South on October 23. Warren completed 11 of 24 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns and also ran 15 times for 66 yards and another score.
What makes the recruiting picture stand out even more is that Nebraska never extended him an official offer. While Matt Rhule and his staff moved quickly to land Trae Taylor, Warren’s performances and Missouri commitment have ensured his name stays in the conversation.

Lions Trade Deadline Debate Comes Down To One Risky Cornerback Choice
The Colts decision to move on from Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner for future draft picks has only sharpened the trade deadline conversation around their roster, and it should have the Lions paying attention. If Indianapolis is truly in seller mode, Detroit could find itself looking at a rare opportunity to add help at cornerback, where a proven veteran or a younger high-end starter would fit a clear need as the deadline approaches.
Charvarius Ward and Sauce Gardner are the names to watch, and each comes with a different kind of gamble. Ward brings experience but also age, a serious concussion history and an expiring contract, while Gardners talent is obvious even if the price tag is not, with a hefty cap hit looming in 2026. For Detroit, the appeal is obvious, but so is the risk if Brad Holmes decides to make a move. [Read more 🡒]
Lions Trade Deadline Pressure Is Rising Around One Defensive Decision
With the Nov. 10 trade deadline approaching, the Lions are again being linked to help on defense, and the conversation starts with the same familiar question: how aggressive should they be about fixing the back end of the roster? Cornerback sits near the top of the shopping list, with linebacker and defensive tackle also drawing attention as the team weighs whether to add a proven piece or stand pat and trust its current group.
Sauce Gardner is part of the discussion because of a sharp dip in production with the Colts, while Charvarius Ward has also surfaced as a possible option despite the complications that come with an expiring contract and injury history. Those kinds of names show how wide the range of possibilities is for Detroit, from bigger swings at the position to more restrained moves that fit the long-term picture, and it leaves the Lions facing a deadline decision that could shape how the defense looks down the stretch. Jared Goff Is Forcing His Way Into The MVP Conversation
Jared Goffs latest run has done more than keep the Lions on track, it has pushed his season into a different kind of conversation. After Detroits recent win, he has piled up 150 completions on 223 attempts and posted a passer rating of 112.5, production that has him sitting near the top of the league and drawing fresh attention from around the NFL.
An ESPN feature made the case that Goff belongs in the sleeper MVP discussion, pointing to his strong expected points added as a sign of how efficiently he is driving Detroits offense. He is still not the favorite in that race, but the fact that his name is being mentioned at all says plenty about how steady and valuable his play has been for a Lions team with bigger ambitions.
