Hanlon's journey with Michigan began in 1969 when he arrived alongside the iconic Bo Schembechler from Miami (Ohio). Over the course of 23 years, Hanlon became a cornerstone of Michigan's coaching staff, holding various roles but truly making his mark as the offensive line coach.
His expertise helped shape 18 All-American linemen and even guided quarterback Jim Harbaugh to All-American status. Under his mentorship, 36 of his players were drafted into the NFL, a testament to his ability to develop top-tier talent.
