The Detroit Lions will take the field Saturday afternoon at Ford Field for their first preseason game in front of fans, with the Washington Commanders coming to town for the dress rehearsal ahead of the 2026 season.
Before kickoff, Jared Goff was already back in familiar territory, catching up during pre-game warmups with former teammate and current Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough.

The former Lions defensive back came up with a sack and forced a fumble, and the turnover set up the Commanders only touchdown in a game that was otherwise controlled by Detroit.
Robertson was upbeat about his time with the Lions afterward, but the matchup still gave fans a little extra pause because it was his impact play that helped produce Washingtons lone score.
