Jared Goff's Rare Lions Highlight Had His Wife Calling Him Out

Jared Goff's triumph on the field against the Cardinals is delightfully overshadowed by a lighthearted Instagram exchange with his wife, Christen, capturing the attention of fans and teammates alike.

Jared Goff gave the Lions a jolt with his legs on Sunday, then got a little too comfortable with the celebration after the game.

Detroit rolled past the Arizona Cardinals 45-21 on October 11, and Goff’s rare rushing touchdown became one of the night’s more memorable moments. It also gave him enough confidence to post about it on Instagram two days later, when he shared a series of photos and captioned them, "Where she at? #TOC (Tweaking Outta Control)."

That was all Christen Goff needed.

Her reply was just one word: his name.

No extra explanation. No follow-up. Just "Jared."

The comment landed exactly the way she probably intended. It drew plenty of attention from Lions fans, who piled on more than 9,000 likes while enjoying the back-and-forth.

Goff’s teammates got in on the joke too. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs both posted "TOC" in the comments, and Tate Ratledge added a goat emoji.

The whole thing made sense for a quarterback whose game has always been built inside the pocket. Goff isn’t known for breaking off highlight-reel runs, which is why that touchdown against Arizona stood out. On third-and-goal, after Gibbs was stopped short, Detroit went back to its quarterback, and Goff finished the drive himself to put the Lions ahead 38-14.

It was the kind of moment he had every right to savor, even if his wife wasn’t interested in letting the celebration drift too far.

The exchange also fit the dynamic the couple has shown for years. Jared and Christen began dating in 2019, back when he was with the Los Angeles Rams. When he was traded to Detroit in 2021, she moved to Michigan with him.

They got engaged on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2022, then married at Ojai Valley Inn in California in June 2024. Their family grew in 2025 with the arrival of their daughter, Romy Isabelle Goff, who turned 1 this past July.

Christen, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, has been a familiar face at Lions games during Goff’s time in Detroit, and more recently she’s been joined by Romy in the stands. With the Lions heading into their bye week at 3-2, Goff has one more thing to smile about after the win. His wife, meanwhile, appears more than willing to keep him grounded.

Lions Suddenly Have A Real Center Decision To Make

Cade Mays training-camp wrist fracture created a quiet opening on the Lions offensive line, and now that opening has turned into a real decision. The free-agent addition has been working back toward full availability, while backup center Juice Scruggs has handled the job well enough to keep the conversation from being simple.

Dan Campbell said Detroit will assess Mays in practice before deciding how to fold him back into the line, which is exactly the kind of week-to-week call that can shape an offense in September. Around the league, there is already belief in what Mays can bring when he is healthy, but for the Lions the immediate question is less about reputation than timing, fit, and whether the group that has been holding up can keep rolling a little longer. Lions Suddenly Have A Linebacker Decision That Could Test Their Rookies

Devin Whites forearm injury has suddenly put the Lions in a position they did not want to face this early in the season. After five games, Detroit had been leaning on White for linebacker depth and experience, but his absence opens a real workload question in the middle of the defense and forces the staff to sort through younger options in a hurry.

One obvious beneficiary is rookie Jimmy Rolder, who has mostly been used on special teams so far. If the Lions decide to stay internal, his defensive snaps could rise quickly, but the team also has another route available if it wants more stability and experience in the room. Joe Bachie is sitting on the practice squad as a possible answer, and Detroit now has to decide how aggressively it wants to patch the hole. [Read more 🡒]

Lions Already Have A Pass Rush Answer And A Secondary Concern

Through five games, the Lions sit at 3-2 and have already found a new wrinkle in their pass rush. With Aidan Hutchinson drawing the spotlight on one side, defensive end Wonnum has quietly become the other answer up front, giving Detroit a reliable presence at the edge and helping the defense take shape early in the 2026 season.

The bigger concern is starting to show up behind that pressure. Cornerback Reed has struggled in coverage, and the numbers have not been kind to him as opposing quarterbacks continue to find success when throwing his way. Meanwhile, second-round pick Moore has seen limited snaps, a reminder that one breakout on the defensive line can solve one problem while leaving another part of the roster waiting for its turn.
