Warriors Issue Tough Steph Curry Status Update

Steph Curry remains sidelined with "runner's knee," putting pressure on the Warriors as they face the Nuggets and eye the Play-In Tournament.

The Golden State Warriors are on a roll, eyeing their fourth consecutive win as they head to Denver to face the Nuggets this Sunday night. This matchup marks the final chapter in their regular-season saga, with the Warriors having taken two out of the three previous encounters, including a victory in February.

However, the Warriors will be without their star guard, Steph Curry, who remains sidelined due to patellofemoral pain syndrome-commonly known as "runner’s knee." This injury has kept Curry off the court since January 30th, when he last played against the Detroit Pistons. The game against Denver will mark his 25th consecutive absence.

Curry's impact this season, despite being limited to just 39 games, has been monumental. He's averaged 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game, showcasing his usual brilliance.

But with only eight regular-season games left, the Warriors are in a race against time. If Curry doesn’t return soon, his participation in the Play-In Tournament could be in jeopardy.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr emphasized the importance of Curry getting back on the court before any potential play-in scenarios. "We're not bringing him back just for the play-in game," Kerr stated.

"He'd need to play some games. We need to give him a runway if this is going to work.

And we are running out of games. That's fair to say."

As the Warriors continue their push, they’ll also be preparing for a showdown against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
