Caitlin Clark, the standout guard for the Indiana Fever, recently shared some insights on Amazon Prime’s NBA coverage. She recounted her time on the sidelines during the Lakers-Pacers game on March 25, which the Lakers clinched with a 137-130 victory.
Clark has taken up live-action photography as a hobby and captured some memorable shots of LeBron James during the game. “It’s a new hobby,” she mentioned, expressing a bit of surprise that her photos of LeBron weren’t shown during the broadcast. “I got it printed out and got him to sign it for me… That’s my GOAT,” she said, highlighting her admiration for the basketball legend.
In a lighthearted moment, Clark recalled making eye contact with LeBron. “I swear we made eye contact, so I set down the camera and smiled at him.
He just looked at me with a straight face. I’m like, he didn’t even see me.
But the photo turned out well, so new hobby, I love it.” LeBron even shared her photo on his Instagram story, adding a special touch to the experience.
While LeBron holds the title of the greatest of all time in Clark’s eyes, her current favorite player is none other than Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. Clark praised Jokic’s resilience, especially his comeback from a knee injury in pursuit of the NBA MVP Award and another championship.
“Not many people can average a triple-double; maybe you’re lucky enough to get a couple of those in a season. He’s done that all year long and in back-to-back years, so it’s pretty incredible,” Clark noted. Jokic is currently putting up impressive numbers, averaging 27.9 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists, with shooting percentages of 57.4% from the field and 38.5% from three-point range.
Clark added, “Honestly, he’s my favorite player to watch. I think he’s the best player in the world.”
So, while LeBron may be her GOAT, Nikola Jokic is the player she’s most excited to watch in today’s game. If the Nuggets and Lakers meet in the playoffs, it could be a thrilling matchup, especially since the Nuggets are the only team against which LeBron doesn’t have a winning record.
That’s a showdown Clark would undoubtedly enjoy from the sidelines.
