Von Miller Calls Broncos Scary in 2026 and Wants Back In

Von Miller sees a championship-caliber future in Denver-and he's not ruling out one more run with the Broncos to make it happen.

Von Miller isn’t ready to close the book on his Denver story just yet. In fact, if he has his way, the final chapter might still be ahead - and it could include another Super Bowl run in orange and blue.

On the latest episode of his Free Range podcast, Miller didn’t hold back when talking about the Broncos’ heartbreaking 10-7 loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Specifically, he zeroed in on the game-sealing play - a bootleg by rookie quarterback Drake Maye that iced the win for New England. Miller believes that if he were on the field, that moment might’ve played out differently.

“I’m not throwing anybody under the bus,” Miller said, “but that play at the end of the game, where Drake Maye rolled out for the bootleg and got the first down - I think Von makes that play. … I make that play.”

It’s not just nostalgia talking. Miller still sees himself as a difference-maker, and he’s got his eyes set on a reunion with the team that drafted him second overall back in 2011. After watching Denver come within one win of the Super Bowl, he’s confident this group is close - and he wants in.

“Next year, this Denver Broncos team is going to be scary,” Miller said. “And I think that’s where you enter Von Miller. If you win a Super Bowl in two different eras, that’d be something crazy.”

It would be more than just crazy - it’d be historic. Miller already helped deliver Denver’s last Lombardi Trophy, earning Super Bowl 50 MVP honors in the process. He added a second ring with the Rams, and now, after a productive 2025 season in Washington that saw him notch nine sacks, he’s heading into free agency once again - this time at age 37.

But don’t let the number fool you. Miller may be nearing the twilight of his career, but he’s not running on fumes. He’s still producing, still motivated, and clearly still has a strong emotional connection to the Broncos - a team he’s openly rooted for even while wearing other uniforms.

The Broncos, for their part, are coming off a resurgent season that saw them return to playoff relevance. Their defense was a force, and their young core showed real promise. Adding a veteran like Miller - someone who knows the organization inside and out, who brings championship pedigree and leadership - could be the kind of move that pushes a contending team over the top.

Of course, there are questions. Age, fit, contract - all the usual free agency factors will be in play.

But one thing’s clear: Von Miller wants to be back in Denver. And if the Broncos are just one play away from the Super Bowl again next year, Miller’s confidence in his ability to make that play might be exactly the edge they need.
