The Jacksonville Jaguars added another veteran offensive lineman to the mix on Wednesday, announcing the signing of Sam Mustipher.
Mustipher is 29 and comes to Jacksonville with a winding NFL résumé that has taken him through several teams since entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame after the 2019 NFL Draft.
His first stop was Chicago. The Bears signed him after the draft, waived him at the end of the preseason, and then brought him back on the practice squad. Chicago did the same thing again for the 2020 season, waiving him before the year and re-signing him to the practice squad, but he eventually moved onto the active roster in October and stayed there.
The Bears kept him around for 2022 by re-signing him as an exclusive rights free agent, but they did not tender him as a restricted free agent in 2023. That opened the door for his next move, and he later landed with the Ravens.
From there, Mustipher continued to bounce around the league. The Broncos signed him in April of 2024, but released him during final roster cuts. He then joined the Chargers’ practice squad and was later promoted to the active roster.
This offseason, Mustipher had a stint with the Titans before being released. Last season, he also spent time on the Ravens’ and Chargers’ practice squads, and the Broncos signed him off Los Angeles’ practice squad in December.
In 2025, Mustipher appeared in one game for Denver.
