Dre Greenlaw Gets Real About Broncos Exit

Dre Greenlaw reflects candidly on his challenging year with the Broncos and his optimistic return to the 49ers.

Linebacker Drew Greenlaw’s stint with the Denver Broncos in 2025 didn’t quite pan out as expected. Battling injuries, Greenlaw only suited up for eight games before the Broncos decided to part ways with him at season's end. Reflecting on his time in Denver, Greenlaw shared his thoughts on The Set podcast with former NFL offensive tackle Terron Armstead.

“It was a tough year, brother. One of my toughest,” Greenlaw admitted.

Despite the challenges, he had nothing but praise for the organization. “Love the organization, great people, and the training staff was top-notch.

The camaraderie among teammates was reminiscent of my time with the Niners.”

Now, Greenlaw is back with the San Francisco 49ers, signing a one-year, $7.5 million contract. He’s eager to reunite with All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner, rekindling a dynamic partnership that’s been a hallmark of their defense.

"Fred came in a year before me, but the connection we have on the field is special," Greenlaw explained. "When we see each other out there, it’s like, ‘you’re not going to let me down, and I’m not going to let you down.’”

Greenlaw appreciates the unique bond he shares with Warner, describing it as a “partner in crime” dynamic. “I know he’ll give it his all, and he knows I’ll do the same.

That’s all you can ask for,” he added. Grateful for the relationships he’s built over his career, Greenlaw is optimistic about the upcoming season with the 49ers, cherishing the connections that have endured and will continue to grow.
