The Denver Broncos are stirring the pot this offseason with trade rumors swirling around their offensive lineup. After clinching the top seed in the AFC West and hosting the championship game, only to see the New England Patriots slip away with a narrow 10-7 victory, the Broncos are looking to shake things up.
Coach Sean Payton didn't mince words, highlighting his pass-catchers' struggles with ball security throughout the season. This has sparked talk of an offensive overhaul.
One name that's been thrown into the mix is a $69 million Pro Bowl tight end, as the team looks to bolster their lineup after Evan Engram's underwhelming performance. Additionally, with J.K. Dobbins sidelined by a season-ending injury in November, there's chatter about bringing in a five-time Pro Bowl running back to reinvigorate the backfield.
But perhaps the most intriguing possibility comes from Heavy’s Tony Adame, who floated the idea of the Broncos making a bold move for Justin Jefferson. The Minnesota Vikings' wide receiver is undeniably one of the elite talents at his position, but the Vikings' uncertain quarterback situation could make him open to a change of scenery. Adame suggests that the Broncos could present an offer too tempting for the Vikings to refuse: their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks along with wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
Sutton had a solid season, hauling in 74 receptions for 1,017 yards and seven touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jefferson, despite dealing with a revolving door of quarterbacks, notched 84 receptions for 1,048 yards and two touchdowns in 2025. His 2024 performance was even more impressive, with 104 receptions for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns, catching passes from Sam Darnold.
The prospect of Jefferson teaming up with quarterback Bo Nix in Denver is tantalizing. It could provide Jefferson with a stable and promising environment, as the Broncos aim to build a team with a clear and ambitious direction.
