Denver Broncos Eye Game-Changing Moves to Transform Their Roster

Broncos eye vital signings of Cam Jordan and Nick Chubb to bolster their roster and offset a quiet free agency strategy.

The Denver Broncos are taking a patient approach in free agency, opting for a 'run it back' strategy. While some might question this choice, it’s possible they’re waiting for the right moment to pounce as player prices drop. This could be a savvy move, but they've let several opportunities slip by to bolster their roster.

However, redemption is within reach if they make a couple of strategic signings.

Cam Jordan, DE

Enter Cam Jordan, a seasoned pro who’s spent his entire career with the New Orleans Saints since 2011. His connection with Sean Payton makes him a natural fit for the Broncos' defensive end spot.

With John Franklin-Myers now with the Titans, Jordan, despite nearing 37, remains a formidable force. His 2025 stats speak volumes: 10.5 sacks, 47 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hits.

Jordan’s consistency is remarkable, boasting nine seasons with at least 15 quarterback hits and seven with double-digit sacks. A one-year deal could keep Denver’s defense among the elite, potentially outshining Franklin-Myers’ previous contributions.

Nick Chubb, RB

Then there’s the idea of bringing in Nick Chubb for a year. Adding him as an RB3 could be a smart move.

Though not the powerhouse he once was, Chubb had a solid 2025 with the Texans, rushing for 506 yards and three touchdowns, and averaging 4.1 yards per carry. This was achieved despite a struggling offensive line, and he managed to stay healthy through 15 games.

With J.K. Dobbins’ 2025 injury, RJ Harvey stepped up but didn’t quite meet expectations.

Having Chubb alongside Harvey would provide a more secure backfield, especially if Dobbins faces further setbacks. While the 2026 NFL Draft offers some options, the running back class isn’t particularly strong, making Chubb a reliable choice.

By signing Jordan and Chubb, the Broncos could significantly enhance their roster and set themselves up for a stronger season.
