The Packers, Seahawks and Broncos are all in the mix if Jonathan Taylor ever becomes available.
According to Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter of ESPN, those teams have “pondered, or are expected to consider, the possibility of a trade” for the Colts running back. ESPN also described Taylor as a “top trade target” this offseason, even with the fact that he recently signed an extension.
Indianapolis, meanwhile, is in a different place than it was not long ago. The Colts have already fired GM Chris Ballard and are now being viewed as a team that could start moving veteran pieces.
Green Bay’s interest isn’t exactly coming out of nowhere. The Packers already looked into Taylor in 2023, but the Colts were asking for WR Christian Watson and more in exchange for the star back.
There’s still a wrinkle here, though: sources told ESPN that Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon sees Taylor as a key piece of the organization and likely part of the team moving forward.
Taylor, 27, entered the league as a second-round pick by the Colts in 2020 out of Wisconsin. He was on the final year of his four-year, $7,829,150 rookie deal, which included a $3,253,928 signing bonus, when Indianapolis gave him a three-year, $42 million extension with $26.5 million guaranteed.
That deal had him lined up for a base salary of $11.98 million in 2026, the final year of the contract, before he signed another two-year, $44 million extension in camp this year.
So far in 2026, Taylor has played in six games and carried the ball 122 times for 492 yards, a 4.0 YPC average, and seven touchdowns. He has also caught 15 passes for 163 yards.

Broncos Fans May Have A New Concern About Alex Singleton
Alex Singletons name is back in the league office conversation after the Broncos linebacker was fined for a hit on Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold in the Oct. 15 win over Seattle. The play drew no penalty in the moment, but the NFL later ruled it unnecessary roughness and levied a $23,882 fine, adding another layer to an already active season for one of Denvers most physical defenders.
It is the third time Singleton has been fined this year, even though one of the earlier penalties was eventually rescinded on appeal. For the Broncos, the concern is less about one isolated hit and more about a pattern that can keep putting a key defensive leader under league scrutiny, especially as Denver continues to lean on his presence in the middle of the defense. Broncos Running Back Picture Just Got More Concerning Than Expected
The Broncos backfield and special teams depth took another hit with a series of roster moves that also touched the defense and secondary. Denver placed running back Tyler Badie and linebacker Jonah Elliss on injured reserve, while also activating linebacker Jonathon Cooper back onto the active roster and promoting safety Taylor Rapp and cornerback Sean Fresch Jr. from the practice squad.
Badies move matters most for a running back group that had already been trying to find its footing, and the timing only adds to the uncertainty around how the Broncos will sort out touches and depth over the next stretch. Coopers return gives the defense a familiar piece back after his extended absence, but the roster churn suggests Denver is still managing more than one spot at once as it heads into the next phase of the season. Broncos Make A Telling Pat Surtain Call Before Cardinals Game
The Broncos pregame injury report offered a few clues about how they plan to handle Sundays matchup with the Cardinals, and one of the biggest came with Pat Surtain II. Denver listed the standout corner as questionable, but when the inactive list was released, he was on it, leaving the Broncos to try to contain Arizona without one of their top defensive pieces.
There was more secondary movement behind that call, too. Denver elevated safety Taylor Rapp from the practice squad with Caden Hufanga still sidelined by an ankle injury, a sign the Broncos are still sorting through the back end of the defense as they get ready for Arizona. The Cardinals, meanwhile, did get safety Budda Baker back in the lineup despite his questionable tag, adding another layer to a game already shaped by availability on both sides. [Read more 🡒]
