His coaching journey, however, has deep roots with Payton. During their six seasons together in New Orleans, Curry progressed from an offensive assistant to wide receivers coach, and eventually took on the roles of quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.
In Denver, Curry steps into the role previously held by Keary Colbert, joining an offensive overhaul that includes Davis Webb's promotion to offensive coordinator. This shake-up underscores Payton's preference for trusted voices as he navigates a pivotal year of development for the Broncos' young quarterback, Bo Nix.
The timing of Curry's hiring is particularly noteworthy, coming shortly after his Bills were edged out by the Broncos in a nail-biting AFC Divisional Round clash. Under Curry's tutelage, the Bills' offense thrived in 2025. Allen wrapped up the regular season with impressive stats: 3,668 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and a 102.2 passer rating, leading Buffalo to a 12-5 record and an AFC East crown.
