The Rams are making another change at kicker, and this time they’re turning to one of the league’s most seasoned options.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Los Angeles is signing veteran Brandon McManus after the team continued to cycle through answers at the position. Rapoport said, "The Rams are signing veteran kicker Brandon McManus, per me and @MikeGarafolo, the latest in Los Angeles' kicker saga. He worked out today, along with FA K Matt Prater."
The move comes after a rough stretch for the Rams’ kicking game. Harrison Mevis was released after a blocked field goal helped set up an overtime loss, and the team then brought in Blake Grupe.
He gave the Rams a reason to feel optimistic after drilling his first 44-yard attempt, but that stability didn’t last long. Grupe was hit hard on a kickoff and will miss the rest of the season.
Now, with Los Angeles sitting at 2-4 and still searching for a reliable answer, McManus gets the call. The former Super Bowl champion is 35 years old and brings 12 NFL seasons of experience with him. He spent nine seasons with Denver, two with Green Bay, and one with Jacksonville.
His recent numbers show both the upside and the caution. McManus converted 24 of 30 field goal tries for the Packers last season, an 80.0% mark. In 2024, he was much sharper, going 20 of 21 for Green Bay and posting a career-best 95.2%.
The Rams do not need perfection here. They need a kicker who can bring some steadiness to a spot that has been anything but stable. McManus, who owns an 82.0% career field goal percentage, now gets the chance to try.

Broncos' 4-2 Start Hides A Problem Fans Can't Ignore
A 4-2 start against a demanding schedule has the Broncos positioned well in the standings, but the record has come with a familiar catch for anyone watching closely. The defense has done the heavy lifting in enough games to keep Denver afloat, while the offense has often struggled to generate the kind of consistent production that makes a winning run feel stable.
The concern is not just aesthetic, either. Analysts around the team have pointed out that the current formula is hard to sustain over a full season, especially when so much depends on the defense holding up its end every week. Denver has earned the wins it has, but the next stretch will say a lot about whether the offense can do enough to support the start the Broncos have built. [Read more 🡒]
Former Broncos Pro Bowler Found A New Purpose Fans Will Respect
Julian Thomas carved out a memorable NFL career with the Broncos as a tight end and two-time Pro Bowl selection, but his post-football path has taken him somewhere even more meaningful. Since retiring in 2018, Thomas has shifted into the mental side of athletics, becoming a clinical psychologist and performance coach with a focus on helping athletes handle the pressures that come with competition and life beyond it.
Thomas also turned that interest into something bigger than a private practice, building a brand around athlete well-being through Optimal Performance. The work fits a modern need in sports, where mental health and performance are increasingly linked, and it gives Broncos fans a different reason to appreciate a player who is still making an impact long after his playing days ended. Broncos Trade Debate Just Put The Offense Under The Spotlight
With the NFL trade deadline approaching, the Broncos are at least being tied to the kind of offensive upgrades that can change how a roster looks in a hurry. The conversation has centered on a few names around the league, from backfield help in Tony Pollard to a pass-catching option in Colby Parkinson, with Denvers need to get more dynamic on offense shaping the entire debate.
The bigger intrigue is how far this kind of search could go if the right market opens up. Saquon Barkley has been mentioned as a possibility if Philadelphia decides to move pieces, and Quenton Nelson is another name getting attention in the speculation after the Colts front office shakeup, leaving Denver to weigh whether a splashier addition is even realistic before the deadline arrives.
