The Denver Broncos' offseason strategy has left fans eagerly awaiting some fresh faces, but so far, the team has focused on retaining their own players. As the first week of free agency wraps up, the Broncos have ensured every offensive player from last season is back on board for 2026. Yet, there's a glaring need for more playmakers, particularly at the tight end position.
Enter Dallas Goedert, the Philadelphia Eagles' standout tight end, who is poised to hit free agency once his contract voids. According to The Athletic's Nick Kosmider, Goedert could be a game-changing addition for the Broncos.
At 31, Goedert is coming off a stellar season with the Eagles, where he proved himself as a reliable touchdown target despite the team’s offensive struggles. Last year, he hauled in 60 catches for 591 yards and an impressive 11 touchdowns, showcasing his knack for finding the end zone.
Since being drafted in 2018, Goedert has consistently been a top-tier receiving threat. With 4,676 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns on 409 receptions over his eight-year career, his resume speaks volumes.
While the Broncos still have Evan Engram under contract, the tight end position didn’t deliver much last season. Adding a proven playmaker like Goedert, especially one with his red zone prowess, could be exactly what the Broncos need to elevate their offensive game.
There are other playmaking options out there, but bringing in a seasoned tight end with playoff experience like Goedert seems like a smart move. Although the Eagles might attempt to retain him, the Broncos would be wise to seize the opportunity if it arises, as Goedert could provide the offensive spark they’re currently lacking.
