Stars Schedule Is Loaded With Revenge And One Massive Showcase

Discover the can't-miss games in the Dallas Stars' historic 84-game lineup, featuring intense rivalries, revenge opportunities, and a thrilling outdoor showdown.

The Dallas Stars’ 2026-27 schedule is out, and it comes with plenty of dates that jump off the page. From a season-opening divisional test to an outdoor showcase at AT&T Stadium, Dallas has no shortage of matchups that should shape the year.

The Stars begin the campaign on Friday, October 2, at home against the St. Louis Blues.

That opener also arrives in the middle of a historic league-wide shift, with the NHL set to play its first-ever 84-game regular season slate. For Dallas, it’s a chance to set the tone immediately in what will be the longest regular season in league history.

A few days later, the schedule turns into an early measuring stick against one of the Stars’ biggest Central Division challengers. Dallas will host the Colorado Avalanche on October 13 before heading to the Rocky Mountains for the rematch on October 14. It’s an unusually early back-to-back, and one that could say plenty about where the Stars stand in the division race right out of the gate.

Halloween brings another notable home date, as the Columbus Blue Jackets visit Dallas on Friday, October 31. That one carries a clear subplot: the Stars will see reigning Norris Trophy winner Zach Werenski for the first time since one of the offseason’s biggest sagas ended with Werenski declining a move that would have sent him to Dallas.

The revenge angle shows up again in late January. On Saturday, January 30, the Stars head to Minnesota for their first matchup of the season with the Wild, the team that knocked Dallas out in the first round of last season’s playoffs. It’s the first of several meetings between the Central Division foes, but this one gives Dallas an immediate shot at settling the score on the road.

Then comes the headliner. On Saturday, February 20, the Stars will take part in the 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series against the Vegas Golden Knights at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. It’s the marquee event on the schedule, an outdoor stage that gives Dallas a rare chance to play in front of a massive crowd at one of the NHL’s most distinctive venues.
