The Dallas Stars have started dangling clues about their next jersey, and the early signs point toward a familiar color making a comeback.
On Wednesday, the team posted its first tease for the “Hometown Remix” on social media, and the reveal was anything but straightforward. The post included an image built around a cluster of numbers, while the video backdrop showed part of a jersey that looks a lot like the neon green sweaters Dallas wore from 2021 to 2025. That has sparked speculation that the look could return in a new version.
The message is believed to decode to “ Dallas Glows in Green,” which would suggest a new green jersey is on the way, though the team has not announced a release date.
Fans are already hoping the new design lands with the same force as “The '99,” the alternate released in 2025 to honor the 1999 Stanley Cup-winning team. That sweater caught on fast, became one of the NHL’s most popular looks, and sold out quickly. Many fans are hoping the black alternate sticks around even as the Hometown Remix line rolls out.
The Stars may not be done introducing new uniforms this season, either. Dallas is set to play the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL Stadium Series outdoor game in February 2027 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, and another sweater could be unveiled for that matchup.
There’s also a chance that design pushes the team beyond its usual palette. Potential concepts could add blue accents for the first time as a tribute to the Dallas Mavericks and Cowboys, which would give the franchise one of its boldest looks yet.
