Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson had some insightful reflections following a 6-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils. Despite the setback, Robertson, now 26, sees the upcoming four-game road trip as a prime opportunity for a fresh start.
Kicking off the road series against the New York Islanders, Robertson expressed optimism. "Hitting the road offers a great reset," he shared.
"Facing teams we're not as familiar with brings excitement. The guys should be pumped to start a strong run on Thursday."
Hailing from Arcadia, California, Robertson highlighted some bright spots amidst the defeat. "We did some things today that we can be proud of. But when you fall behind early, it’s tough to rally," he admitted.
Robertson also addressed the challenge of New Jersey's swift offense. "They’re fast.
It’s been a while since we’ve been caught off guard like this. Hopefully, we’ve learned from it."
When the conversation turned to Wyatt Johnston's impact on the power play, Robertson didn't hold back his praise. At 22, Johnston is already proving to be a key asset for Dallas.
"Johnny’s versatility is impressive. He finds ways to get open and take shots, even if it's a lucky break.
He’s crucial to our power play and will be vital as we head into the playoffs," Robertson noted.
With a mix of reflection and anticipation, the Stars are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting road stretch.
