Mavericks Quiet Addition Could Quickly Enter Dallas Rotation

Turkish three-point sensation Tarik Biberovic embraces his NBA journey with the Mavericks, eyeing a pivotal role in Dallas's shooting resurgence.

The Mavericks found a quietly valuable add when they brought in Tarik Biberovic, a move that could end up mattering far more than the price tag suggests.

Dallas picked up his draft rights in the trade for Santi Aldama, then did what so many teams never manage to do with an overseas stash: they actually got him to come over. Biberovic signed a two-year, $6 million deal with a team option in the second year, giving the Mavericks a real chance to plug in one of the most consistent perimeter shooters around.

That shooting is the selling point. Biberovic has spent the last few seasons with Fenerbahce, and he’s cleared 40% from three in five of his last six years. For a Mavericks team that was one of the worst shooting groups in the NBA last season, that kind of touch can change the look of a lineup in a hurry.

Biberovic talked about the move to Anadolu Agency, and he made it clear he sees this as a fresh start rather than a finish line.

“This was my dream, and I am happy that I have finally been able to achieve it,” Biberovic said, via EuroHoops.net. “I am reaching the highest point of my career, but this is not the end-it is the beginning.

I am entering a completely new world and opening a new page. I will start from scratch, work my way up step by step, and fight for everything.

I want to earn as many minutes as possible, show my ability, and become one of the team’s most reliable players. My goal is to build a great career there.”

The 56th overall pick in the 2023 draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, Biberovic stayed overseas after hearing his name called. Now his first NBA stop will be Dallas, and he arrives with a clear identity: shoot it, space the floor, and make defenders pay.

At 6-foot-5, he profiles as a shooting guard. He’s not really built to run point, and he doesn’t quite have the size to live on the wing full time. Still, the shot is good enough to carve out a role, especially if the Mavericks need a pure floor-spacer while Klay Thompson’s future with the team remains uncertain.

There’s also a path to minutes because the backcourt isn’t empty. Biberovic will be competing with Max Christie and Sergio De Larrea, both of whom can handle either guard spot. Even so, his shooting gives him a real shot to get on the floor quickly.

And if Dallas wants to maximize him, there’s obvious upside in the playbook. Dusty May should have some fun designing sets to get a shooter like Biberovic open.

Kyrie And Cooper Flagg Are Giving Mavs Fans A Reason To Dream

Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg have already started building a connection this offseason, working out together as the Mavericks look ahead to the upcoming NBA season. For Dallas fans, it is the kind of detail that can make the long wait between seasons feel a little more promising, especially with Flagg saying he is eager to learn from Irving and sharpen his own game.

Irvings rehab from an ACL tear remains part of the picture, but the shared workouts have added another layer of intrigue to what Dallas hopes comes next. If the pairing takes shape the way the Mavericks envision, it could give the franchise a fresh reason to think big about how their talent fits together once both are on the floor. [Read more 🡒]

Mavericks Fans Are Fuming Over A Season Ticket Change

The Mavericks latest tweak to their partial season-ticket menu has already landed with a thud among some fans who have built their plans around getting into American Airlines Center a handful of times each winter. For the 2026-27 season, two of the teams 10-game packages will now include one preseason game instead of a regular-season date, a change that replaces part of the value some buyers expected when they locked in their seats.

A Mavericks spokesperson said six of the eight season-ticket options will still be made up entirely of regular-season games, but the shift has not stopped frustration from spilling onto social media. The bigger complaint, beyond the preseason swap itself, is that marquee matchups are also being left out of these packages, leaving some longtime holders feeling like the team is asking them to pay more while getting less of the games they actually want. Mavericks Just Added A Wing Prospect With A Real Chance To Matter

Tarik Biberovic is now part of the Mavericks mix, and he arrives with the kind of profile Dallas has been trying to stack around its core: a wing who can also handle the ball and fit into different lineup looks. The move gives the front office another prospect to evaluate, and it came through a trade that brought his draft rights to Dallas as the team kept searching for ways to add talent and versatility.

Biberovic has already spoken like a player eager to make the jump, embracing the start of his NBA path and treating it as a real opportunity rather than a formality. The next question is how quickly he can turn that optimism into a role, especially after leaving his European club behind and with the Mavericks hoping he can earn steady minutes as he settles into a guards workload.
