DeMarvion Overshown is gearing up for a pivotal season with the Dallas Cowboys, entering the final year of his rookie contract. Drafted in 2023, Overshown's journey has been marred by injuries, limiting him to just 19 games over three seasons.
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones emphasized the critical nature of Overshown's availability moving forward. “Availability is key,” Jones stated.
“No one is more eager to play than DeMarvion. If he can stay healthy, I believe he’ll have a standout season.”
The Cowboys picked Overshown at No. 90 in the 2023 draft, signing him to a four-year, $5.39 million deal. Unfortunately, his rookie season was wiped out by an ACL injury. In 2025, Overshown managed only six appearances, sidelined for the first 10 weeks due to significant knee injuries from the previous year.
Despite these setbacks, Overshown recorded 28 tackles, including 15 solo efforts, in the 2025 season. However, the Cowboys fell short of the playoffs. As he eyes the 2026 season, Overshown knows that staying on the field and delivering consistent performances will be crucial for securing a contract extension with the team.
