Dak Prescott's offseason has been as eventful off the field as it is on, with his recent breakup with fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos grabbing headlines. This split, occurring just a month before their planned wedding, has even prompted comments from Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
The couple's relationship reportedly hit a rough patch after a major disagreement during their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas. According to sources, it was Ramos who decided to call things off after months of tension behind the scenes. Despite the breakup, Prescott and Ramos are committed to co-parenting their two daughters.
Prescott and Ramos first went public with their relationship in 2023, shortly after Dak signed his impressive four-year, $240 million extension. While the engagement is now officially over, the couple expressed their regret over canceling their wedding, which was set to take place in Lake Como, Italy.
In a statement, they apologized for any inconvenience caused to their guests and asked for understanding and support during this difficult time.
Coach Schottenheimer, speaking with Cowboys beat reporter Jon Machota, shared that he's had numerous conversations with Prescott since the breakup. He noted that Dak is maintaining a positive outlook as he gears up for the upcoming season.
“Dak’s in a really good spot,” Schottenheimer remarked. “What he’s dealing with is tough, but if anyone can handle it, he can.”
While it's never easy to see such personal matters play out publicly, there's hope that both Prescott and Ramos can find a path forward that benefits their family and children.
