Lamar Jackson didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for the Dallas Cowboys when asked about their Week 3 matchup in Brazil.
Ahead of Baltimore’s trip to Rio de Janeiro, Jackson was asked about the Cowboys’ defense and why they’re known as “America’s Team.” The Ravens quarterback, who’s set to face Dak Prescott in a showdown between 1-1 teams, leaned into the moment with a sharp one-liner.
“Yes, but this is America. That is Brazil,” Lamar Jackson said, according to a post from The Athletic’s Jon Machota.
Jackson didn’t stay in joke mode for long. He quickly shifted to a more measured breakdown of what Baltimore is up against, and he made clear he respects what Dallas brings up front.
“So we will see, we will see. But I have seen (the Cowboys) pass rushers - they are unbelievable.
They get after the quarterback a lot and disrupt the pass game a lot. But, it is football at the end of the day, you know?
We are just going to have to go out there and do what we (are) supposed to do,” Jackson added.
The Ravens quarterback has started 2026 playing well, completing 67.9 percent of his passes so far. But Baltimore may have to navigate this one without one of his favorite targets.
Zay Flowers is still dealing with a lingering hamstring injury and remains uncertain for Week 3. Coach Jesse Minter sounded somewhat optimistic earlier this week, but Flowers missed Wednesday’s practice as Baltimore prepared for Dallas.
The Ravens also have another receiver unavailable. Rookie Ja’Kobi Lane is out with a wrist injury he suffered against the Colts, and he has been placed on Injured Reserve.
Dallas, meanwhile, is still making moves and isn’t reportedly finished tweaking its roster. That leaves both sides trying to sharpen things up before a matchup that’s already drawing plenty of attention.
