Asked about his game plan for Sunday night’s matchup with the Cowboys, the new Giants head coach made it clear he wasn’t handing over anything useful. Harbaugh’s answer wasn’t a short brush-off; he delivered a full-throated warning that the details reporters wanted were not going to leave the building.
“I’m not going to tell you who is playing in the game. I’m not going to tell you who is starting, what package we have in, what play we’re running,” Harbaugh said to the media.
He added, “I’m not going to tell you any of that. So we can make it great and have a great press conference, or we can make it uncomfortable.
I’m not going to tell you because what you know, the Cowboys know, and every other team knows. That’s not in the competitive interest of our football team.”
He wrapped it up with, “I think you can respect that,” he concluded.
The moment came with the Giants preparing for their Sunday Night Football opener against Dallas, a game that already carries plenty of attention as New York looks to start the year with a win.
Harbaugh’s approach hasn’t been limited to the podium, either. Word out of Giants training camp has not been especially rosy, and reports have said he has already had issues with quarterback Jaxson Dart. Cam Skattebo has also reportedly felt the heat from the new coach.
