Jerry Jones is at least thinking about the glare issue at AT&T Stadium, and that alone is enough to turn heads around the league.
For years, the Cowboys owner had shown little interest in complaints from NFL players about the sun and the reflection coming through the building’s glass. But on Saturday, Jones told Fox reporter Mike Doocy that he’s now considering tinting the windows as a possible fix.
“We're giving that a thought,” Jones said.
That shift drew a sharp reaction from NFL insider Jane Slater, who couldn’t resist a little disbelief when she heard Jones was even entertaining the idea.
“Day by day I’m getting closer to the idea that this is Jerry’s clone bc who is this man?” Slater tweeted.
The topic has lingered since the Cowboys moved into AT&T Stadium, which was originally called Cowboys Stadium, for the start of the 2009 NFL season. Since then, multiple players have complained about the massive glass end-zone doors at the venue.
Jones has owned the Cowboys since February 1989 and has watched the franchise win three Super Bowls under his watch. Still, the last championship came in 1996.
There’s also a football side to all of this beyond the stadium windows. Jones said the Cowboys are open to making a few moves before the November trade deadline to strengthen the roster during the season.
And before the 2026 regular season gets here, Dallas will go through three preseason games: at the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7:00 p.m. CT, at the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 9:00 p.m.
CT, and against the New Orleans Saints on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m. CT.
The Cowboys have not made the playoffs since the 2023 NFL season, and the pressure around the team has continued to build in recent years as the organization has handed out big-money contracts to its star players.

Cowboys Camp Already Created A Roster Battle Nobody Wanted
One week into Cowboys training camp, the safety group has already been forced to shuffle. Locke is dealing with a hyperextended knee, though the expectation is that he will only miss a few days, while Dallas has been able to respond by spreading more work to other safeties with Thompson sidelined.
The bigger concern is that the injuries are starting to stack up before camp has even settled in. Thompson is out with a hip flexor issue and Childress has landed on the injury report with a hamstring injury, and even if neither situation is considered serious, the uncertainty can complicate a position battle the Cowboys would much rather have sorted on the field.
