The Dallas Stars are set for a major change in how fans watch their games. According to a report from DLLS Sports, the team is expected to move its broadcasts to Amazon Prime starting with the 84-game season in 2026-27, leaving Victory+ and potentially landing on one other platform as well.
The team has not officially commented, but the move would plug the Stars into Amazon’s growing hockey push in the United States. Amazon Prime has already entered NHL coverage in Canada over the past two seasons, and the Stars would join the Seattle Kraken as another team on the service. It also fits a broader shift, with teams moving away from Victory+ after the Texas Rangers departed for BZZR and reports surfaced that the Anaheim Ducks could be next.
The tradeoff for fans is clear. The games would not be free, and they would not be fully available on local linear channels. Still, Prime Video could put Stars hockey in front of more households than Victory+ because it comes bundled with the widely used Amazon Prime subscription.
Even with the local broadcast changes, the Stars are still getting plenty of national exposure. They’ll appear 13 times on national TV, making them one of the most visible teams in the league this season.
On the ice, the focus remains the same: another run at Stanley Cup contention. Dallas finished second in both the Central Division and Western Conference in 2025-26 with a 50-20-12 record, but the postseason ended in the second round against the Minnesota Wild.
Head coach Glen Gulutzan will lead a roster headlined by Jason Robertson and Wyatt Johnston. The preseason begins Sept. 19 with a road game against the St. Louis Blues, and the regular season opens Oct. 2 against those same Blues in Dallas.
