Dak Prescott isn’t shying away from the big-picture conversation in Dallas. Before training camp even got rolling, the Cowboys quarterback showed up on the team charter wearing a Super Bowl XXX championship T-shirt, and the move instantly got people talking.
Prescott made it clear Thursday that the shirt wasn’t meant as some grand prediction for the season ahead. Still, he understood exactly why it landed the way it did when he spoke after the Cowboys’ second training camp practice.
“Set the tone, I think the tone’s been set,” Prescott said, via Cowboys staff writer Calvin Watkins. “To say a T-shirt is going to do it, it would be, I knew you guys would like it.
“Didn’t know how many of the teammates would see it. It’s just the manifesting thing.
When we want stuff in life a lot of times, but then you know when people start talking about it, you kinda hesitate. 'Should I say that?
They’re going to hold me to it.'”
The message behind the shirt fits the moment in Dallas. The Cowboys haven’t been to the Super Bowl since winning the 1995 season, and they’ve missed the playoffs the past two years. Prescott, though, is leaning into the expectations instead of backing away from them as the team heads toward 2026.
He also revealed a new label the offense has started using: GOTI, which stands for “Greatest Offense There Is.” The nickname was introduced on the team’s annual offensive bonding trip and has already made its way into the locker room.
That confidence isn’t coming out of nowhere. The Cowboys finished second in the NFL in total offense last season and bring back every offensive starter, giving Prescott and company plenty of reason to believe they can keep building.
