The Cowboys got exactly the kind of reset they needed in Week 2, and Dak Prescott turned the afternoon into a record-setting showcase.
Dallas rolled past the Washington Commanders in its home opener, a win that kept the team unbeaten at home against NFC East opponents and erased some of the sting from a rough Week 1. Prescott was at the center of it all, putting together a 279-yard, four-touchdown outing while completing 26 of 31 passes.
The biggest moment of the day came when Prescott threw his 249th career touchdown pass, moving him past Tony Romo to become the Cowboys’ all-time leader in passing touchdowns. It was a franchise milestone wrapped inside a sharp, efficient performance.
One throw in particular stood out enough to draw a memorable reaction from Tom Brady, who was on FOX as an analyst and didn’t hold back after Prescott zipped a fourth-quarter pass to CeeDee Lamb.

[Quan Martin] can't get over there on time. Little bit of a high-risk throw, but when you got arm strength like that, and you make a decisive read with a clean pocket, one little hitch into that, you can really drive it, and there was no margin of error on that throw," Brady said.
The line quickly made the rounds on social media, but it wasn’t the only time Brady had a blunt reaction during the broadcast. Earlier in the game, while a replay showed Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels’ dislocated elbow, Brady blurted out, "Oh sh*t," before adding, "Excuse me. Was not expecting to see that."
With the Cowboys now in the win column, the focus shifts to Week 3 and a trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for a matchup with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. That game will be the first NFL contest ever played in Brazil, and it will also be Dallas’ first international game since a 31-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London in 2014.
