In a surprising turn of events, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has filed for a Suit Affecting the Parent-Child Relationship (SAPCR) with his ex-fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos. This legal move comes on the heels of their called-off wedding, originally planned for April in the picturesque Lake Como, Italy.
Prescott initiated the legal proceedings on March 17 in Collin County, Texas. However, what could have been a contentious battle has evolved into a more collaborative effort. Ramos’ attorney, Raymond Rafool, shared that both parties are working together amicably, which is a positive development for everyone involved.
Prescott's filing requests that he and Ramos be appointed joint managing conservators of their two daughters, Margaret and Aurora, emphasizing that this arrangement serves the best interest of the children. Under Texas law, a SAPCR is a legal action used to establish orders for child custody and support, particularly for unmarried parents, ensuring that parental rights align with the child's best interests.
The backdrop to this legal matter is a personal one. The couple's wedding plans came to a halt following allegations of infidelity on Prescott's part.
Ramos reportedly uncovered that Prescott had been using incognito social media accounts to send inappropriate messages to other women. Although Ramos confronted Prescott about his online behavior earlier in January, she hoped for a change for the sake of their family.
Following the decision to cancel the wedding, the couple reached out to their approximately 250 invited guests via a joint email, expressing their apologies for the sudden change. Just days before the news became public, Ramos shared moments from her bachelorette celebration, highlighting the support of her friends during this challenging time.
Rumors swirled that the wedding was called off due to a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement, but Ramos quickly dispelled these claims through an Instagram comment, clarifying that a prenup had nothing to do with their decision.
Despite their separation, Prescott and Ramos remain committed co-parents to their daughters, Margaret Jane "MJ" Rose, aged two, and Aurora Rayne, just ten months old. The pair, who got engaged in October 2024, now focus on navigating their new roles while prioritizing the well-being of their children.
