George Pickens has quickly become the name on every Cowboys fan’s mind-and for good reason. The wide receiver is coming off a breakout year in Dallas, and now, with free agency looming, the question isn’t just whether the Cowboys can keep him.
It’s how far they’re willing to go to make it happen. Turns out, one of their biggest stars is already ready to put his money where his mouth is.
CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys' top wideout and locker room leader, made waves this week with a bold statement on The Dan Patrick Show. When asked about Pickens’ future in Dallas, Lamb didn’t hesitate.
“He has no choice,” Lamb joked. “It’s my pick.”
But the conversation quickly turned serious when Patrick pressed him on whether he'd consider restructuring his own deal to help Dallas retain Pickens. Lamb, who is heading into the third year of a four-year, $136 million deal, didn’t shy away from the idea.
CeeDee Lamb says he's open to restructuring his contract in order to bring George Pickens back to the #Cowboys.

“If it’s necessary, honestly,” Lamb said. “I’m pretty good. But I know he’s gonna get every penny that he deserves here in Dallas.”
That’s not just locker room talk. That’s a star player showing leadership-and a real understanding of what makes this Cowboys offense tick.
Pickens, who turns 25 in March, is expected to command around $20 million annually on the open market. And after the season he just had, it’s hard to argue with that number.
In his first year with Dallas, he put up career highs across the board: 93 catches, 1,429 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns. He played all 17 games for the third time in four seasons, proving he’s not just explosive-he’s reliable.
It’s that combination of durability and production that makes Pickens such a valuable asset. He brought a vertical threat to the Cowboys’ offense that perfectly complemented Lamb’s route-running and versatility. Together, they gave Dallas one of the most dynamic receiving duos in the league.
Now the Cowboys front office faces a tough challenge: how to keep that duo intact without breaking the bank-or the cap.
Lamb’s willingness to restructure could be a game-changer. While NFL contracts are complex and restructures don’t always mean taking less money, the gesture itself speaks volumes.
It’s a sign that Lamb sees the bigger picture. He knows what Pickens brings to the table, and he knows how rare it is to have two elite wideouts on the same roster, both in their prime.
For Dallas, this is more than just a contract negotiation. It’s a moment that could define the next few years of their Super Bowl window.
Pickens has proven he can thrive in this offense. Lamb has proven he’s a team-first leader.
Now it’s up to the Cowboys to make the numbers work.
Because if they do? This offense might just be getting started.
