Cowboys Poised for Move as Giants Star Nears Departure

As the NFL free agency approaches, the Dallas Cowboys eagerly anticipate a potential shift in their favor with the likely departure of a key Giants playmaker.

As NFL free agency looms on the horizon, the Dallas Cowboys and their fans have plenty to keep an eye on. While Dallas will be making its own moves, there's also intrigue in watching the strategies of their rivals, particularly the New York Giants.

This offseason, the Giants made headlines by appointing John Harbaugh as their head coach. With a new leader at the helm, some familiar faces might find themselves on the move, and wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson could be one of them. The Cowboys wouldn't mind seeing him in a different jersey next season.

Cowboys Would Welcome Wan’Dale Robinson's Departure from the Giants

The Giants face pressing needs on the offensive line and at cornerback, aside from their receiver situation. With a tight $5 million in cap space, according to Overthecap, New York must make strategic decisions. Meeting Robinson's potential contract demands may not be feasible.

Spotrac forecasts Robinson landing a four-year, $70.5 million deal in free agency, averaging $17.6 million annually. This is a steep price for a team with limited financial flexibility.

Robinson's impressive 2025 season saw him ranked ninth in receptions (92) and tied for 14th in receiving yards (1,014), along with four touchdowns. His back-to-back seasons with over 90 catches highlight his reliability as a top target.

Improved quarterback play in New York last year allowed Robinson to shine, proving his worth to teams seeking a dynamic wideout. He will undoubtedly attract considerable interest across the league.

The Giants do have a promising talent in Malik Nabers, but his recovery from an ACL and meniscus injury leaves questions about their receiving corps. With Darius Slayton as the next viable option, New York's depth at receiver is concerning.

Losing Robinson would be a significant blow for the Giants, who can't afford to let go of key playmakers. Free agency often reshuffles the deck, and Robinson could very well find a new home.

For Dallas, seeing Robinson exit New York would be a welcome development, further complicating matters for the Giants and their quarterback, Jaxson Dart. While the future remains uncertain, there's a strong possibility that Robinson will don a different uniform in 2026.
