The Professional Football Writers of America have officially unveiled their 2025 All-Rookie Team, and the Dallas Cowboys have a new name etched into that prestigious list. Rookie guard Tyler Booker earned the nod, capping off a strong debut season that gave Cowboys fans a glimpse of what could be a cornerstone piece on the offensive line for years to come.
Booker, just 21 years old, came into the league with high expectations after being selected 12th overall in the first round of April’s draft out of Alabama. And in typical Crimson Tide fashion, he came in NFL-ready. Despite missing three games early in the season due to a high ankle sprain, Booker started 14 games and didn’t miss a single offensive snap in any of them-a rare feat for a rookie lineman, let alone one adjusting to the speed and complexity of the pro game.
That kind of durability and consistency is hard to find, especially from a first-year player asked to anchor one of the most scrutinized positions in football. Booker’s blend of power, technique, and poise stood out in a league where rookie offensive linemen often take a full season-or more-to find their footing. He’s the first Cowboys rookie to make the PFWA All-Rookie Team since Tyler Smith did it back in 2022, and his selection serves as a strong early return on Dallas’ first-round investment.
Booker’s recognition comes alongside a group of standout rookies who made their presence felt across the league. The All-Rookie Team includes Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, Colts tight end Tyler Warren, Giants defensive lineman Abdul Carter, Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell, and Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori-all of whom made significant impacts in their debut campaigns.
On the awards front, Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger took home Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, while Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan claimed both Offensive Rookie of the Year and overall Rookie of the Year. McMillan’s dynamic playmaking ability and production made him a clear standout in a deep rookie class.
For the Cowboys, Booker’s emergence adds another chapter to the franchise’s rich history of rookie standouts. Micah Parsons burst onto the scene in 2021 with a Rookie of the Year campaign of his own, joining a legacy that includes names like Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Dorsett-players who didn’t just shine as rookies but helped define eras of Cowboys football.
Booker’s inclusion on this year’s All-Rookie Team doesn’t just reflect a solid first season-it signals that Dallas may have found its next foundational piece up front. If his rookie year was any indication, the Cowboys’ offensive line could be in very good hands for the foreseeable future.
