The Dallas Cowboys are still waiting on their turn for the NFL’s latest uniform experiment, but the finish line is in sight.
The league’s “Rivalries” alternate uniforms, part of its broader push to keep rolling out new looks, debuted last year and returned this season with another wave of mixed reaction. Two divisions get the treatment each year, and for 2026, the AFC South and NFC North are up next. The AFC East and NFC West got the first crack last season.
Dallas won’t be part of the next rollout, but the Cowboys are scheduled to join the program in 2027 when the “Rivalries” concept reaches the NFC East and AFC West. That means the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles and Commanders will all be in the mix for the new alternate look.
Once a “Rivalries” uniform is introduced, the league’s uniform policy says it remains in a team’s rotation for there years, unless it gets replaced by a refreshed version.
The exact unveiling date still hasn’t been set, though more should come out when the offseason arrives. For a franchise that has stayed pretty steady with its look over the years, the big question is how far the Cowboys will go when they finally get their own version.
Right now, Dallas’ uniform lineup includes the Primary White set worn at home, the Navy Blue combination used only occasionally, the Classic Thanksgiving throwback, and the popular All-White Arctic look.
Last season also brought a first for the franchise: the Cowboys paired their All-White Arctic helmets and pants with navy blue jerseys against the Washington Commanders late in the year, and the combination drew a strong reception. Whether Dallas brings that look back in 2026 remains to be seen.
