DeMarvion Overshown has landed on ESPN’s honorable mention list among off-ball linebackers, another sign that the Cowboys still have a player in him worth watching closely.
ESPN’s position rankings are built from input from executives, coaches, and scouts around the league, which gives the exercise some real weight. And while Dallas has already seen Tyler Smith finish first among all interior linemen and both Dak Prescott and Quinnen Williams come in at No. 6 at their respective spots, Overshown’s nod adds his name to a group that also includes players like Javonte Williams, Jake Ferguson, Tyler Booker and DaRon Bland.
The evaluation on Overshown came with a simple but telling note from an NFC scout: “He moves like a safety. Incredibly talented. I want to see how he does this year after the injuries.”

The talent has never really been the question. What has slowed Overshown down is his inability to stay on the field, with injuries repeatedly interrupting his progress. That’s why ESPN also included him as a possible breakout player in 2026, even describing it as a potential “re-breakout.”
