The Jets’ latest loss dropped them to 2-6, but the bigger picture is starting to look wild. New York is sitting on more draft capital in the 2027 NFL Draft than any other team, and if the 2026 season keeps trending the way it has, the Jets could end up with a haul that makes league history.
The eye-popping part is simple: New York owns three first-round picks in 2027, and all three have a real shot to land in the top 10. If that holds, the Jets would become the first team in 60 years to make three top-10 selections in the same draft.
Right now, the Jets are projected to hold picks Nos. 4, 5, and 10. That would put them in rare company. The last team to pull off three top-10 picks in one draft was the 1965 Bears, who used those selections on Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers, and Steve DeLong.
How did the Jets get here? Their 2027 first-rounders include the Colts’ pick, acquired after trading Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis last season, and the Cowboys’ pick, which came over in the Quinnen Williams deal. New York also has its own first-rounder, and the current setup has all three selections lined up near the top of the board.
That kind of draft position gives the Jets a chance to attack two major needs at once. Quarterback remains the obvious priority, with the franchise still searching for a long-term answer. The team also needs help on defense, while the rest of the offense is described as being in good shape moving forward.
At quarterback, the list of potential targets includes Drew Mestamaker of Oklahoma State, C.J. Carr of Notre Dame, Darian Mensah of Miami, Arch Manning of Texas, Trinidad Chambliss of Ole Miss, Dante Moore of Oregon, and LaNorris Sellers of South Carolina.
On the defensive side, the Jets could use their other first-rounders on players such as CB Leonard Moore of Notre Dame, EDGE Colin Simmons of Texas, EDGE Dylan Stewart of South Carolina, DT David Stone of Oklahoma, CB Kelley Jones of Mississippi State, and DT Will Echoles of Ole Miss.
TSN’s Vinnie Iyer recently had the Jets taking Carr, Stone, and Jones in his latest mock draft, though that projection came when New York’s three picks were slotted between 9 and 12.

Cowboys Could Have A Tough Trade Deadline Decision Ahead
The Cowboys are heading toward the trade deadline with more questions than answers, and their uneven play has only sharpened the spotlight on how they should handle the roster. Sitting below .500, Dallas has to weigh present-day urgency against longer-term planning, which is never an easy balance when the season is already wobbling.
Terence Steele, Jonathan Mingo and Luke Schoonmaker are among the names that could come up in conversations because of where they stand on the depth chart and how the team is using them. If Dallas decides to shop any of them, the goal would be to turn current roster pieces into draft capital and give the front office more flexibility as it tries to patch holes and reshape the team moving forward. George Pickens Just Added To A Growing Cowboys Debate
George Pickens first month in Dallas has already become part of a bigger conversation about how the Cowboys want to use him, and how much patience they should have while the offense keeps searching for answers. After the Week 8 loss to Arizona, Pickens was seen heading off the field before the Cardinals game-winning field goal was even confirmed, a small moment that only added to the scrutiny around a receiver who was targeted four times and finished with two catches for 48 yards.
The bigger issue for Dallas is less about one play than the fit itself. Pickens has not been on the field as much as some teammates, and his role has not yet matched the expectations that came with his arrival, which is why his name is already surfacing in trade chatter as the Cowboys weigh what comes next. For now, it is just speculation, but it is the kind of speculation that tends to grow louder when a team is losing and one of its most talented pieces is still trying to find his place. [Read more 🡒]
Cowboys Suddenly Face A Franchise Crossroads After Cardinals Collapse
The Cowboys season has reached a point where every decision feels bigger than the last. At 3-5, Dallas is no longer just dealing with uneven play and defensive lapses, it is staring at a real organizational fork in the road as the trade deadline nears and the front office weighs whether this group still deserves more investment or whether the smarter move is to start thinking ahead.
George Pickens is part of that larger conversation, along with the rest of a roster that has not found enough consistency to inspire confidence. The uncertainty extends beyond personnel, too, with questions lingering around the coaching staff and whether it has enough traction to steady things. However Dallas chooses to handle the next stretch, the coming days could shape not just the rest of this season but the direction of the franchise itself. [Read more 🡒]
