The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys both entered the weekend with their final injury reports in hand, and each side has some notable names to monitor before Sunday’s game.
Arizona officially ruled out Walter Nolen III and Jon Gaines II, both dealing with ankle injuries. The Cardinals also listed Hjalte Froholdt, Max Melton and Andrew Wingard as questionable after all three were limited by knee issues.
The good news for Arizona is that several key players cleared the report entirely. Budda Baker, Jeremiyah Love, Josh Sweat, Michael Wilson and Mack Wilson Sr. were all removed and are set to play.
Dallas has its own list of absences and uncertainty. The Cowboys ruled out Ka'Vontae Turpin with a ribs injury and Dee Winters with a calf issue.
They also have several players sitting in questionable status: Jonathan Bullard (calf), Kenny Clark (back), Marist Liufau (forearm), P.J. Locke (foot), George Pickens (shoulder/hamstring), and Luke Schoonmaker (groin).
Both teams can still make up to two standard practice squad elevations on Saturday, a move that could help clarify where each roster stands heading into game day.
Final active and inactive decisions are due 90 minutes before kickoff, and with the game set for 11:00 AM MST on Sunday, those calls will need to be submitted by 9:30 AM MST. NFL teams are allowed to dress 48 players on game day.
On the football side, Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said he knows what Dallas brings even with the Cowboys below .500 entering Week 8.
“They have a lot of talent, I know that. I’ve always had a lot of respect for Dak. I’ve had a lot of respect for ‘Schotty’ (Cowboys Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer) - he’s as good a human in this league as there is," LaFleur told reporters.
"You know they’re always going to be a talent-filled team. It’s always fun to go into that stadium (AT&T Stadium) and play those guys for obvious reasons. We have our hands full like you do every week but yes, these guys are talented.”
Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb also addressed Arizona’s recent success in the matchup, noting the Cardinals have taken eight of the last nine meetings.
"They've always had more energy. They were more excited, regardless of if it was a 12 o'clock, Sunday night or Monday night," Lamb told the Cowboys' official team site.
“I've never beat the Cardinals since I've been in the league, so that's kind of fair to say,” Lamb said. “I wouldn't say heightened focus, but it's definitely another take.”

Troy Aikman Rumor Just Reopened A Bigger Cowboys Power Debate
Troy Aikmans future has become one of those offseason Cowboys topics that says as much about the franchise as it does about the Hall of Fame quarterback. His ESPN deal is set to run through the upcoming Super Bowl, and with his next move still unclear, the conversation has drifted well beyond the broadcast booth and into the kind of power structure debate that always seems to follow Dallas.
Ed Werder poured a little cold water on the idea of Aikman simply sliding back into the organization in a ceremonial or advisory role, suggesting it would take something far bigger for that reunion to happen. The bigger question is whether Aikman would want a seat with real authority, and whether the Cowboys would ever be willing to make room for that kind of change while Jerry Jones still holds the general manager title. Cowboys O-Line Faces A Prove It Test Against Arizona
The Cowboys offensive line enters this Arizona matchup with a chance to turn good numbers into something more meaningful. After spending the 2026 season under the microscope, Dallas has a clear path to keep leaning on Javonte Williams and test a Cardinals front that could be vulnerable inside, especially if Walter Nolen III is unavailable.
Arizona still brings real stress points, though, and Budda Baker remains the kind of defender who can wreck a plan from the second level while Josh Sweat gives the Cardinals a legitimate edge threat. For Dallas, this feels like one of those games where the line has to prove it can handle movement, pressure and a defense that is looking for one big mistake to change the tone of the afternoon. Cowboys Suddenly Have A New Voice Fueling Big Playoff Belief
With the Cardinals and Colts next on the schedule, the Cowboys are trying to stack wins before the NFL trade deadline and keep their season pointed in the right direction. In the middle of that push, DeMarvion Overshown has become one of the more confident voices in the locker room, adding a little extra edge to a team that is looking to turn a good stretch into something more meaningful.
Overshowns optimism carries some weight because it comes as he works his way back from a hamstring injury and has already flashed impact in the recent win over the Eagles. His return has given Dallas another fast, disruptive presence on defense, and his belief in what this group can become hints at a bigger standard inside the building, even if the next few weeks will say plenty about how realistic that postseason talk really is.
