AT&T Stadium had no shortage of headlines on Sunday, and not all of them came from the field.
During the Cowboys’ 37-20 win over Washington, a video from outside the seating bowl started making the rounds showing a fan apparently stuck on one of the stadium’s escalators. Dallas Texas TV reshared the footage, and the clip shows the man seemingly unable to pull himself free after his legs got caught between the rail and a wall.
Exactly how he ended up in that position remains unclear, and there was no official explanation from stadium staff. But that didn’t stop fans from turning the moment into a running conversation online.
“Correction… Dumb*** gets stuck on an escalator,” one fan wrote.
“How does one get in this position lol,” another asked.
“Clown was likely trying to ride down on the hand rail,” a third fan suggested.
“I’ve many questions 😅,” a fourth added.
The bizarre scene landed on a day that already had plenty going on. Dak Prescott set the Cowboys’ franchise touchdown record by passing Tony Romo, and one of those scores came on a throw to CeeDee Lamb for Prescott’s second touchdown of the game.
There was also a frightening moment late in the first half when Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels went down with an elbow injury. Prescott and Lamb later stopped in their tracks as they walked toward the tunnel, reacting to the injury replay on the stadium jumbotron.
Between the injury, Prescott’s record-setting day, and the escalator mishap, Sunday at AT&T Stadium gave fans more than enough to talk about. The escalator clip, though, is the one that seems most likely to keep circulating.
